Machine Operator – Greenville, SC

General Description

Our 1st and 2nd Shift – EDM Machine Operator works independently to set up, maintain, and utilize EDM equipment, fixtures, hand tools, and precision measuring instruments. Reads Quality Management Systems procedures and Job Traveler to understand and follow prescribed methods and defined sequence of operations according to applicable specifications and approved EDM procedures. Cleans parts and materials prior to and following process, as indicated. Maintains part accountability and tractability. Documents process activities, inspection/verification results, and maintenance activities electronically and/or manually, as indicated. Assists management in technical and statistical investigations in order to solve problems and improvement methods and processes. Maintains a clean work area. Complies with company safety policies.

Experience:

  • Minimum two years machine shop experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Experience with EDM equipment desirable
  • EDM Progamming Skills a MUST
  • SPC experience desirable
  • Exposure to formal quality management systems ISO9000, AS9100, Nadcap desirable

Education:

Life skills & previous job training to be evaluated at time of hire
High school diploma minimum, plus one-year trade school desirable

Competency:

Must read and interpret engineering drawings
Must read, understand and follow documented procedures & instructions
Must use common shop tools & inspection devices
Must complete required records (electronic and/or written)
Must work independently and safely
Must attend/complete required training events (ref. Skills Versatility Matrices)
